The Definitive Guide To Promoting Your Blog Content

I wanted to talk a little bit about marketing your blog content. I know that this is definitely something that I struggle with frequently on my blog, and I wanted to help other people with the same issue do better. When you are creating blog content, you might just think that putting it up and hoping that it gets traffic is sufficient. Well, that isn’t the only part of the blogging process. You need to get your content out there, but to really gain exposure for your content (your goal) you are going to need to promote your blog content. You need to be sure that you continue to promote and talk about the content that you have on your blog.

Getting the word out about the new content that you have is the key. You need to be sure that you are constantly talking about your content, at least if you believe that the content that you produce is quality content. Let’s talk about what you need to be promoting your content.

Why You Need To Be Promoting Your Content

You need to be promoting your content so that you can gain attention and exposure for your blog. If you want to succeed in business and in life, you need to get attention for whatever you are doing. Money and recognition follow attention. You need to get attention so that you are able to have anything that is successful, whether it be your blog, business, or relationships. Attention is key to all things that you want to be successful with in life.

If you don’t have attention for your blog posts, then all the work that you have done is for nought. When you put the effort into writing something, what are you trying to do? You are intending upon communicating with your writing, right? Well, if no one is there to be communicated to, then it seems that you are in a predicament.

Ways To Promote Your Content

Now that you know why you need to be promoting your content, you are probably wondering how you should be promoting your new content. Any writing is nothing without an audience to read it. If you don’t have anyone who is going to be reading your content, then your work that you put in to write it was for nothing. If you can’t get people to read it, then you are failing in some aspect of your content marketing strategy.

I would like to talk to you about some of the ways that I recommend promoting your content. Be sure that you, at least, use two to get some type of effect. I recommend using all of them, however, you can just use two if you want. Use the highest amount possible.

Social Media

Social media is a great way to tell people about your content. Follow me on Twitter, by the way. You can see even more great content. That’s a great example of something that you can do to increase your Twitter following. Seriously follow me, though. You will love it.

When you constantly create content, social media is a great way to tell people about it where they already are looking for content. People share blog posts of other people all the time on Twitter and Facebook, so why shouldn’t you? You need to be sure that you are sharing things on social media so that you can tell people about the new content that you are coming out with. When you are going to be releasing great new content, be sure that you tell people about it.

SEO is another big thing that you need to be doing on your whole website. When you look for things that you are going to be talking about, you should use a keyword tool. Figure out what people are looking for and optimize for that. I can’t really go into detail about SEO in one blog post, but you can go and check out this SEO guide.

Offline Marketing

Offline marketing is another great category of marketing that you can use to drive traffic to your blog. Be sure that you have links to your website on all of your stationary, business cards, flyers, signs, etc. This can be a great way to drive traffic if you are a local business.

Video is a great way to promote your blog and utilize cross-channel marketing to get more traffic to your blog and more exposure for your business and brand. When you create a blog post about something, do a quick video on it.

Here is an example of that:

A podcast is another great thing that you need to add to your content marketing strategy. People might not want to read a blog post, but they might want to listen to content about it. Be sure that you elaborate more on the podcast than you did on the blog. I am not telling you to have less blog content, I am just telling you to have a podcast that is a little meatier than your blog post.

Take The B Cubed Podcast For Example:

Guest blogging is another great way to gain exposure for your business. If you don’t know what guest blogging is, it is basically writing for another person’s blog in exchange for your name to be on the blog post that you write. When you are writing on another person’s blog, you want to make sure that it is popular enough to be worth your while.

Email Marketing

When you post something to your blog, you can send out a promo email with extra, exclusive content to your email list. If you haven’t built one yet, start building. If you are going to be doing this, you need to be sure that you have a privacy policy in place outlining how you are going to be using people’s information and that you are compliant with all applicable laws, etc.

In Conclusion…

I hope that these tips help you promote your blog content and grow your blog to many readers. Be sure to share this content so that even more people can have great blogs and remember to be great and never settle for anything less.
